Waiting for Godot

Produced by The Elif Collective in 2022 at the West-Park Presbyterian Church. I played Lucky.

Lucky may be the most fateful character Becket’s already grim canon. An indentured servant who doesn’t speak until a 7-minute long monologue of gibberish, my Lucky perpetually tottered on his legs in a strained box step. I spent the whole show tied to a rope and with my mouth agape so that I could drool. The latter character choice resulted in the purchase of a small fortune in chapstick.

Plus, the rope-burn lasted for weeks.

This was perhaps my favorite venue that I’ve ever performed in. Our show took place in a 100-seat theater located in the attic of a large gothic church on 86th St — perfect for nihilistic tragedy.
