Dance Nation

Directed by Tea Alagic in 2024 at the Columbia Theatre Department. I played Dance Teacher Pat.

Performing as the male Abby Lee Miller was the fruition of a life-long obsession with Dance Moms. That being said, my Dance Teacher Pat was only sort of inspired by Ms. Miller. Instead, my performance research was heavily drawn from Wayne McGregor, an illusive choreographer who offered fascinating character research. Unlike McGregor, though, Dance Teacher Pat did not run the Royal Ballet. Instead, he was a low-level choreographer who thought he could change the world through jazz hands, glitter, and a lyrical number.

My speciality is acting in plays where everyone besides me has to dance. I am, as they say, a “mover.”
